			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://library.blogs.pace.edu/files/2011/11/logo.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-461" src="http://library.blogs.pace.edu/files/2011/11/logo.jpg" alt="" width="128" height="105" /></a>Exams have you stressed out?  Then stop by the Mortola Library on Wednesday, Apr. 25 and spend some time with a therapy dog from the <a href="http://www.thegooddogfoundation.org/">Good Dog Foundation</a>!  On April 25 from 11-2PM therapy dog teams from the Good Dog Foundation will be spending some time in the Birnbaum Conference Room in the library. Students are invited to drop by and de-stress for a bit with one of the dogs and to learn more about the great work these dog teams and the Good Dog Foundation accomplish! Can&#8217;t make it between 11 and 2?  Then stop by Kessel Student Center as the dogs will be visiting Conference Rooms C/D over there from 2-5PM.  So stop by, pet a dog, and feel better! 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Library is pleased to announce <strong>Simmons OneView</strong> (previously Simmons Choices 3) is now available on the Web! You can now access the Simmons OneView interface from any computer with Internet access.</p>
<ul>
<li>To access Simmons OneView, select it from the “Complete Database Listing” on the Library’s Databases page: <a href="http://www.pace.edu/library/find-resources/database-articles" target="_blank">http://www.pace.edu/library/find-resources/database-articles</a></li>
<li>Simmons OneView requires users to sign into the system using unique usernames and passwords. Contact the Reference Desk at your home campus library for login information. The Pace Library has licensed <strong><em>a limited number of logins</em></strong>, for use by current Pace University faculty, staff and students for academic purposes only.</li>
<li>In order to access Simmons OneView, you need a modern browser with the Adobe Flash 10 plug-in installed. Simmons OneView has been tested to work on the following browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer 7, Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, and Mozilla Firefox 3.5.2.  Screen resolutions of 1024 x 768 or higher are recommended. Lower resolutions will work (as may be needed for projectors) but will require screen scrolling.</li>
<li>New Features includes demographic “QuickReports” as well as the option to “Highlight &amp; Filter” data and cells when viewing Crosstabs</li>

<p align="center">It’s called <strong>Patron Driven Acquisition</strong> (or PDA) of electronic books.</p>
<p align="center"><strong><em>What does that mean?</em></strong></p>
<p align="center">The Pace University Library is piloting a new type of service where you &#8211; Library users &#8211; choose which e-books, (from a large selection of titles) actually get purchased and added to the collection!</p>
<p align="center"><strong><em>How?</em></strong></p>
<p align="center">We’ve started with a few major subject areas: Publishing, Social Sciences/Social Issues, Modern Asia, Gender &amp; Queer Studies, and Performing Arts &amp; Film.</p>
<p align="center">When you search in the Library Catalog for books on topics in these areas, look for an Access the E-book through Ebrary link. Go take a look, and if you decide to use it, we decide to buy it!</p>
