Spring 2010

Well the Spring 2010 semester has almost begun and we are doing final work on getting things in order for the start of the new semester.  We are happy to announce that some new technological equipment has arrived in the library and is being installed for use in the Spring.  In the Birnbaum Library 30 new public workstations are being installed on the 1st floor to replace some of the older/slower computers that had been there.  In the Mortola Library 6 new laptops, 6 new netbooks, and 3 iMacs will be available for use in the Spring.  We look foward to seeing you again next week with the start of the  semester on Jan. 20!

Mobile LCD Computer Cart now available!

testA new mobile LCD Computer Cart is now available for students to use on the first floor of the Mortola Library.  The cart is comprised of a large LCD monitor, cart, computer, and mouse/keyboard.  The cart is meant as a way for students to better collaborate with one another using a computer and to have the ability to move it around the library and not be tied to a set workstation.  The cart will be “stored” by the area near the beanbag chairs but students are free to move it anywhere on the first floor of the library.  It will be circulated through the Technical Help Desk by checking out the keyboard and mouse to users andwill be checked out for a standard 3 hour loan period.  At the current time it is available on a first come first serve basis (no advanced reservations).
